The risks of "silent" diseases increase significantly after the age of 40. These include cardiovascular conditions, type 2 diabetes, and mental health concerns.
That is why, with the support of the Ministry of Health, Ukraine has launched the national "40+ Health Screening" program, which Medical Center Viasan has also joined. The program makes it possible to identify risks even before the first symptoms appear.
The 40+ Health Screening can be completed at any public, municipal, or private healthcare facility that has joined the program.
Medical Center Viasan is a program participant. The screening is available at two locations: Ternopil, 12 Medova Street, and Ternopil, 34 S. Bandera Avenue.
No special preparation is required.
It is recommended to avoid intense walking, smoking, and caffeinated drinks for 30 minutes (half an hour) before your visit.
The screening visit typically takes about 40-60 minutes.
Blood pressure measurement, assessment of pulse rate and rhythm, anthropometric measurements (weight, height, waist circumference), and body mass index (BMI) calculation.
Next, risk factors are assessed: smoking, alcohol misuse, level of physical activity, and family medical history. Symptoms that may be “early warning signs” are уточнюються.
The program includes tests that help detect changes you may not feel yet: a lipid profile (atherosclerosis risk) and HbA1c (glycated hemoglobin) to identify prediabetes/diabetes.
Additionally, if indicated: sodium/potassium (kidney and heart function), creatinine and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) (kidney function), and the urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio (ACR) (early signs of kidney damage).
! Laboratory results are expected no later than 72 hours after the visit.
After receiving the test results, the doctor provides personalized advice on nutrition, physical activity, stress management, quitting smoking/alcohol, and weight loss.
